MISSION
The 吃瓜头条911 Honors Program seeks to recruit and retain highly qualified, intellectually curious students by fostering an interdisciplinary community of self-directed scholars and creative problem-solvers.
ELEMENTS OF THE PROGRAM
LIVING-LEARNING HOUSING
First-year students will be paired with other Honors Program students during their freshman year to live together in special housing to enhance their opportunities to interact and build community outside the classroom.
Honors Program Orientation
Incoming freshmen participate in the fall semester Honors orientation course which introduces them to the curricular and extracurricular elements of the Program.
THREE HONORS SEMINARS
These small, discussion-oriented seminars replace existing University general education classes with custom-designed topics.
TWO HONORS PROJECTS
Students work with faculty members in their major or minor to enhance two upper-level classes. An Honors project can also be done in conjunction with experiential learning such as internships or study abroad.
HONORS CAPSTONE ENHANCEMENT
Students explore an additional dimension of their college鈥檚 capstone requirement that is of special interest to them.
